Manacor is the island's second city and the capital of the Llevant. It has furniture industry, pearls, a large industrial estate and at the same time the whole coast of Porto Cristo and Cales.
That dual nature means everything comes in here: units and workshops on the estate, shops and restaurants in the centre, and hotels and apartments on the coast on the seasonal calendar.
The centre of Manacor is two and three storey town houses, many with courtyards, and a good deal of ground-floor retail where extraction and roof discharge are the usual problem.
And Porto Cristo and Cales de Mallorca are pure coast, with the salt air and seasonal villas that brings.

And in town premises — bar, restaurant, shop, office — the problem is nearly always the same: tight height and neighbours above. It is solved with a flat, quiet route and with the roof discharge planned properly from the start, so you do not end up arguing with the building.
Right by the sea an installation does not age the same way. The air carries chlorides, and chloride eats the zinc off galvanised steel well before its time. Ductwork that would last inland starts pitting here within a few years.
