Bunyola has two faces: the mountain village with stone houses and steep streets, and Palmanyola, which is detached-house residential ten minutes from Palma.
In Palmanyola and the surrounding developments the work is more like metropolitan work: seventies and eighties villas being renovated, with a new suspended ceiling and reasonable room to run the system.
In the village and in Orient it is pure Tramuntana: stone, beams and narrow streets, with the particularity that Orient sits in a closed valley where winter is genuinely cold and the heat pump has to be properly sized.
And there are plenty of large fincas along the Sóller road and around Son Termes.

In the Tramuntana no two houses are alike, and almost none was built with ductwork in mind. Half-metre stone walls, vaulted floor structures, exposed timber beams the owner has no intention of hiding, and ceilings that change height from room to room.
Here the route is the project. It is not drawn in an office: it is drawn in the house, going up to look at what sits above each ceiling. Sometimes the right route is not the short one, it is the one that does not force you to touch a beam.
Exposed beams stay exposed. If the owner wants to keep them, and they almost always do, the duct goes wherever it can be hidden: a cupboard, a corridor, a loft. It can be done, but it has to be drawn beforehand, not improvised.
The facade is usually listed. That governs where the outdoor unit can go and how the duct can reach the roof. We look at it with you and, if needed, propose the solution the town hall will actually accept rather than the one that causes trouble.
And access. Single-car streets, nowhere to park, sometimes steps. Fabricating the ductwork in our workshop and bringing it up ready is not a bonus here: it is the only way to do the job without blocking the village for three days.
In the Palmanyola chalets the ductwork usually runs through the new false ceiling; in Orient, the key is sizing the ducted heat pump for the cold of the valley.
