Alaró sits exactly where the plain meets the mountains, at the foot of the castle. That gives the town both mountain stone houses and flat-land houses with yards.
It is one of the towns where most old houses have been bought and renovated in recent years, mostly by outsiders who want the authentic village without giving up comfort.
That is exactly our usual job here: a fully renovated 19th-century house, with a timber structure the owner wants to keep and the installation hidden completely.
And on the outskirts there are fincas and country houses reached by track, where the route is freer but the logistics slower.

In the Tramuntana no two houses are alike, and almost none was built with ductwork in mind. Half-metre stone walls, vaulted floor structures, exposed timber beams the owner has no intention of hiding, and ceilings that change height from room to room.
Here the route is the project. It is not drawn in an office: it is drawn in the house, going up to look at what sits above each ceiling. Sometimes the right route is not the short one, it is the one that does not force you to touch a beam.
Exposed beams stay exposed. If the owner wants to keep them, and they almost always do, the duct goes wherever it can be hidden: a cupboard, a corridor, a loft. It can be done, but it has to be drawn beforehand, not improvised.
The facade is usually listed. That governs where the outdoor unit can go and how the duct can reach the roof. We look at it with you and, if needed, propose the solution the town hall will actually accept rather than the one that causes trouble.
And access. Single-car streets, nowhere to park, sometimes steps. Fabricating the ductwork in our workshop and bringing it up ready is not a bonus here: it is the only way to do the job without blocking the village for three days.
